New Summer Position

Level U is pleased to announce summer job positions for a Community Centre Coordinator, courtesy of the Canada Summer Jobs program.

The Community Centre Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring Level U’s community space runs smoothly, safely, and effectively. This position supports day-to-day operations, youth programming, partnerships, events, volunteer management, and community engagement. The Coordinator is the first point of contact for many visitors and helps create a welcoming, professional, and high-impact environment aligned with Level U’s mission.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Community Space Operations

– Oversee daily operations of the Level U community centre, ensuring the space is clean, organized, safe, and ready for programs.
– Manage room bookings, program schedules, and community access.
– Track inventory and manage supplies, equipment, and materials.
– Ensure compliance with organizational policies, health and safety requirements, and accessibility standards.

2. Program Support & Coordination

– Assist with planning and coordinating Level U programs, workshops, youth events, and training sessions.
– Support setup and teardown of events and classes.
– Maintain attendance records, registration lists, and program documentation.
– Provide on-site support to facilitators, instructors, and volunteers during programs.
– Enhance our skills training curricula using a mixture of participant feedback, community research, and AI tools

3. Community Engagement & Front-Facing Support

– Serve as a welcoming point of contact for youth, parents, partners, and visitors.
– Respond to inquiries by email and in person.
– Build positive relationships with program participants and support their engagement in Level U services.
– Promote Level U programs within the community and help with outreach activities (e.g. social media).

4. Administration & Reporting

– Assist with data collection, evaluations, and reporting for programs and grants.
– Help maintain accurate records in CRM or organizational databases.
– Support basic financial tracking for program expenses and supply purchases.
– Prepare monthly summaries or updates for the management team.
– Develop digital literacy skills with supporting our Centre’s suite of software, licenses, and website

5. Volunteer & Partner Coordination

– Support recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of volunteers.
– Communicate expectations, provide check-ins, and track volunteer hours.
– Assist with partner relations, including community organizations, schools, and service providers.
